Papers of Jane Cunningham Croly, 1888.

Collection consists of two letters and an undated engraving of Croly from a photograph by Rockwood. In a letter dated March 12, 1888, addressed to "Dear Sir", Croly replies about a request for information concerning the history of the Godey Publishing Company, which is no longer in existence. She briefly discusses the ownership history of Godey's Lady's Book. In an undated letter to J.B. Ford and Company, Croly inquires about obtaining a Christmas volume of an unidentified library.

Jane Cunningham Croly (December 19, 1829 – December 23, 1901) was a British-born American author and journalist, better known by her pseudonym, Jennie June. She was a pioneer author and editor of women's columns in leading newspapers and magazines in New York. She founded the Sorosis club for women in New York in 1868 and in 1889 expanded it nationwide to the General Federation of Women's Clubs. She also founded the Woman's Press Club of New York City.
